Transplanted small town girl, now living in the nation’s capital (or close enough). Unabashedly devoted Virginian and southerner. Slightly obsessed with pop culture, celebrity gossip, politics, and current events. I watch a lot of television and read a lot of blogs (and the occassional book). I harbor a secret dream of working for a music label specializing in “dark and twisty” (tm Bindu) music (I’ve already identified about 6 artists I want to work with). I request information on Ole Miss’s masters in southern studies every 18 months, with dreams of spending 2 years sitting on a porch swing, reading Faulkner, O’Conner, Fitzgerald, and Eudora Welty, and resulting in me working at Southern Living. After I compiled our family’s cookbook at Christmas, I’ve decided I want to, one day, be a food anthropologist. Web 2.0 and social media fascinates me. Eventually, I will be a food blogger, but, in the meantime, this little venture will have to do.

Since we are both descendants of Fount Beattie I thought I’d respond.
